Why Networking is essential to you Why should I Network? Over the years I have attended pretty much all versions of what is commonly known as "Networking" from the formal (BNI, Chamber of Commerce) to the more relaxed (4Networking) to the downright horizontal (too many to mention but usually revolving around alcohol!) The important thing to remember is that, as with all htings in like, you get out waht you put in. Arrive at an event in a bad mood and project negative energy and you'll get nothing. Similarily, hard selling to everyone you meet will not work. So, why network? It simply is the most cost-effective way of building most businesses. Getting yourself in front of people and promoting to them and the people they know is a fantastic tool. A lot of people are scared of the concept as it usually involves a small degree of public speaking, but don't be - the rest of the room has felt/feels exactly the same way. Google networking and get yourself to an event (I'm off to one in Cardiff tonight) - the small investment in time and money will reap fantastic rewards, I promise.
